Winnie stood by the door with her hand still holding doorknob. She didn’t look at Saxon and kept silent. Saxon was not hurried but watched her gently.

Winnie was wearing a cartoon nightgown, which was a good match for a girl of this age. She had long and smooth hair coming to her shoulder, looking very quiet and pretty. Saxon smiled and appreciated her quietly with hands in the pocket.

After some time, Winnie slowly stepped backwards heavily and reluctantly. Saxon laughed and walked in and reached out his hand to hold Winnie’s hands on the doorknob.

Winnie was frightened and quickly withdrew her hands and stepped backwards further.

She clenched her hand and studied him warily. Saxon smiled and then turned around locking the door heavily in front of her.

Now in the closed bedroom, only two of them were left. Winnie was very nervous and on the more obvious alert.

Saxon slowly turned around and saw her frightened and pale face. He smiled but said nothing. He walked inside the bedroom, searched around and caught sight of the bed with a lovely blue sheet belonging to a girl.

Saxon was moved. He bent down to touch it softly. And then to Winnie’s surprise, he sat down on it piously.

    PIOUSLY?!

Though Winnie was shocked, she shook her head. She believed she might make mistakes with her eyes.

So proud was Saxon, how could he be pious?

Saxon looked at Winnie standing far away from him and pointed at the place beside him and invited her, "Come here…"

Winnie was surprised to hear that, but she pretended not to have got the message and tried to escape.

But from his more and more serious expression, she knew her effort was in vain. She was nervous and sweated.

She tried to calm herself down thinking he might not be crazy. After all, this was her house. So she moved slowly to him and stood in front of him.

Seeing Winnie’s expression, Saxon was disturbed. He suddenly dragged her wrist and pulled her to him sitting on his legs. He then held her waist tight with another hand so that she could not flee at all.

Winnie was scared. She could feel his unique coldness. She tried to escape again, still in vain. It seemed as if she were fixed there, motionless.

She dared not to breathe but sat in his arms quietly.

Witnessing such a quiet Winnie, Saxon could not help smiling evilly. He whispered to her, " Actually I knew you might be afraid of me and I didn’t want to be so close to you. I only hoped you sit beside me."

Then he went on, "What troubles me is that you are so reluctant to sit beside me. No way out. You know I hate being rejected by others. Now that you don’t like to sit beside, you just sit in my arms!"

Winnie was more frozen. She kept silent, because she knew she could not challenge Saxon, or he would be more defiant.

Thus what she could do now was to obey him by sitting there quietly.

Saxon felt better now with Winnie acting so obediently in his arms. He touched her soft hair and smelled her sweet scent. He asked Winnie tenderly, "Do you know why your father treated me that way? Can I say in humble reverence?"

Winnie was quite disturbed. Though she didn’t like but she had to admit the words "in humble reverence" Saxon used were correct.

    Then, she asked lightly, "Why…"

At last Winnie paid attention to him. Saxon was glad. He answered her lightly, "I just remind you one thing—common people do not fight with officials…"

Winnie’s heart sank. She could not understand fully. So she asked again, "What do you mean?"

Saxon was relaxed seeing Winnie became nervous. He was still touching her hair. He sighed and answered, "I mean…"

He stopped and asked casually, "Don’t you notice your father is kind to my father and needs his help?"

Without knowing why Winnie had a premonition that things were not so simple. So she was very upset.

She felt her throat was dry. She was nervous. Still, she asked, "Then, what is it…"
