The story began at a cemetery.
It was dark and dim, which gave a kind of depressing atmosphere.
The drizzle fell down onto a fair white face and joined with the tears.
Jane Lim was quivering madly. She managed to hold the sorrow back and helped the woman whining over the tomb to stand up.
Jane gently stroked the woman’s arm and consoled the younger girl beside her as well.
It was the most well-known cemetery in F city for the rich that it was surrounded by densely-planted cypress trees and located at a decent place in terms of geomantic omen.
President Lim--these two words were carved on the gravestone. On considering his social position, it was unusual that no one--except his family--was here at the simple funeral.
Jane’s slim figure was in a piece of black dress, which seemed to be more fragile in the drizzling rain.
“Dad, may you rest in peace. I’ll take good care of my mother and little sister.” On seeing the amicable face from the photo on the grave stone, she just failed to restrain her grief and burst into tears.
Then she felt a little hand was tapping her back and held her sister tightly into her arm.
This naughty little one was now the reason that Jane lived and struggled after the tragedy.
“Screech--”
A dozen of black vans were halted behind Jane. Soon, the third son of the president of All-star Group walked out and came to her as he was followed by a bunch of his people.
Jane turned around, wiped her tears and stared at these men, whose stunning eyes extended a sense of extreme hatred.
“What do you think about my advice? Are you gonna accept it?” The man said with arrogance and puffed a cigar.
“Jane Lim, Mr Nam is really concerning about you lately.”
“Yo, you can never earn 100 million dollars in 24 hours even if you work as a prostitute.”
“Jane Lim, don’t play as a hard ass. No woman has the right to say no to Mr Nam. Don’t make the situation worse.”
Jeff Nam’s men were jabbering away and pretended to be considerate to Jane.
“Jeff, please don’t be this mean.” Jane took a step forward, frowned and protested with bitterness.
“Wow, so you are accusing me?” Jeff pointed at himself.
“If I was being mean, do you think you are able to stand here still in your cheap cloths?” The guy breathed the smoke onto her pale face.
“Let me make myself clear. I have my rules. I give you one more chance. If you can’t return the money your dad owes me tomorrow, you and your little sister will both be the slaves on my bed.”
“Mr Nam, so you are gonna have the threesome?”
“Wow, that’s awesome.”
Sound of sneers echoed around Jane.
“Please leave here! It’s not the deadline!” Jane exclaimed.
“I just love your bad temper.” On staring the beauty in front of him, Jeff couldn’t help reaching out to pinch her cheek.
But Jane turned her face aside, took a step behind and successfully escaped the man’s touch.
Jeff was dying to striped her dress down and tossed her onto his bed as he took a glance at this fair white lady.
However, on having a thought of another man, the fire of desire in his chest was put out.
As a matter of fact, Jeff Nam was the third born of the president of All-star Group. He was famous for all these bad deeds and bad reputation in F city. His had nicknames like Brother Three and Bad J. The guy didn’t afraid of anyone except...
“Chick, let me tell you. Give up struggling, you’re mine sooner or later. I have my power in this city. If you fail to give my money back, don’t blame me for what I wanna do.”
That’s right, that man couldn’t accuse him of forcing women to obey his will as long as Jane was regarded as “owing him something”.
Jeff was greatly relieved as he figured this out.
“Let’s go and prepare a wedding room.”
... ...
“Sister, did dad owe him 100 million dollars?” Cindy Lim looked up at her sister with crystal-like bright eyes.
“It doesn’t matter. I will have the money.”
“But who will borrow us these money? Brother Henry?”
Jane was stunned for a second. Then she caressed Cindy’s cheek and was feeling completely helpless.
“Yeah, who will borrow us these money?”
... ...
After getting back at their pokey condo, mother’s sickness seemed to be getting worse and she had to receive medical treatment as soon as possible.
Now that God really gave her no hope and was pushing her at the edge of the abyss.
Sitting in her own room, Jane was all mixed up. She turned on her cell phone to see who she could ask for help.
Jane had a number of friends as she had a pretty face and the identity of the eldest daughter of the rich Lim family.
However, some of them didn’t answer her call and the rest made excuses to refuse giving a helping hand.
This situation didn’t surprise her for she was a trouble now. Yet, what pissed her off was that she even couldn’t get in touch with Henry McQueen.
She didn’t remember how many times did she dial that number in hoping to hear that familiar voice, which could console her under this condition.
But it had been busy tone at the other end of the line.
She tried to dial the fixed-line telephone at his family and even took the risk of being spotted by these curious reporters--went to the headquarters of McQueen Corporation--to find him. Sadly, all her efforts were in vain.
Not mentioning asking for Henry’s help, she could barely take a glimpse of his shadow.
Jane smiled faintly in tears. She just couldn’t believe that this relationship for all those years was vanished this easily.
Maybe, Henry had his ineffable difficulties.
While how could he dodge and stay away from her at this point?
“Hello. Jane?”
“Do you have any idea about where Henry might be?” Finally, Jane dialed Susan Lee’s number. Susan was the most effective gossip girl around the upper class society in F city. She knew all latest news. She was Jane’s last hope.
“Henry McQueen? My dear, he’s your fiance. And now you ask me where he is?” Susan Lee panted.
“It seems like that he’s completely disappeared. I couldn’t get in touch with him.” Suddenly, a sense of ultimate helplessness struck her after all these troubles she had been through these days.
”Bad boy~” Susan moaned from the other end of the line. Jane frowned and wanted to hang up.
“Susan, if it i not the good time for you...”
“Wait, Jane... Don’t... Let me help you.” Susan giggled and hesitated for a second.
“My dear, I know it had been a hard time for you. Let me offer you what I could. Give me your bank card number and I’ll transfer 10 millions dollars for you.”
Tears welled up in Jane’s eyes. She was pretty surprised that this so-called lunatic Susan Lee was the only one willing to borrow her money.
“I can fix that. Thank you.”
“You fix that? How? Are you really gonna be with Jeff Nam? He’s a rogue. You know, he’s never gonna cherish you.”
But Jane was determined and replied, “That’s true. But I’ll exert my greatest potential.”
