Chapter 27 Her Little Dirty Trick

Veronica had her plan to deal with Crystal and Jasper. But the time had not come yet.

She reached out and passed the dress to Crystal. Crystal seemed to be lost in her thoughts and accepted the dress in silent.

Lifting the corners of her mouth, Veronica lowered her head and stared at Crystal.

Crystal was shocked. Her face paled at once and put one of her hands against her chest as if she was scared a lot. "Why are you so close to me?" she asked, eyes frightened.

Veronica seemed to be a little bit shy. She grasped the corner of Crystal of clothes and shot an anxious glance at Jasper who was standing next to them awkwardly. "Be quiet, Crystal. I need your help, please," she said with a low voice.

"Oh?" Crystal replied. She seemed to have smiled. But there was no trace of smile on her face. Face remaining pale, she asked, "What is it? I'll help you as long as I can. But Miss Bai…"

Crystal was referring to the fact that Lyla would not grand her the credits because she was late last time.

Veronica tilted her head and smiled. "I've already told Miss Bai about that. But later, something terrible happened to her. She was not in a good mood. Probably that's why I did not convince her to cancel the punishment on you. But don't worry. I'll talk to her when she is in good mood someday."

"Thank you." Crystal smiled. But if you took a closer look at her eyes, you would not notice any smile and kindness. "So, how could I help you?" she asked.

Veronica blinked her eyes and took Crystal's hands. "Look. I have a friend. He is free in the afternoon. So I'm going to see him. Can you please accompany Jasper here?" she whispered in Crystal's ear.

There was a giant ceiling lamp above Crystal' head. It was shining brightly and cast a shadow on her. Crystal was showered by the lights. Her long eyelashes hid her expression in her eyes. "Sure, no problem," she agreed, smiling.

"But why do you want to see him? What are you going to do?" Crystal continued asking.

Right at this time, Jasper walked towards them. Veronica shook her head mischievously and said, "I'll text you about the details. I have to go now. Please tell Jasper about it. Bye~"

Back to Jasper, Crystal looked at the receding figure. She let out a chuckle and said with a low voice, "Of course, I will accompany Jasper here. But I don't want to lie to him."

Before long, Veronica had already disappeared into the distance. Jasper hurriedly ran to Crystal and asked in a worried tone, "What happened? Why did Veronica leave?"

There was a hint of embarrassment on Crystal's face. She replied, "She…" But soon, she stopped, seeming to realize she should not tell him the truth. Covering her mouth with one of her hands, Crystal shook her head violently. There were tears in her eyes.

Jasper could not help frowning upon seeing her reaction. He took a deep breath and locked his eyes on Crystal. "Crystal, tell me, what did Veronica just say to you?" he asked.

Crystal turned around and replied in a seemingly anxious tone, "She said she was tired and did not want to go shopping anymore, and she asked to tell you to go back alone." Then she ran away with a big smile on her face.

Although Jasper could have caught up with Crystal, he still did not move to chase after her. Standing at where he had been, he reached out to tidy his hair which had been a mess when he was running towards them. After he was done with his hair, he took his coat and walked towards the parking lot gracefully.

He was still behaving like a real gentleman. His long legs, handsome side face made him stand out in this upscale department store where middle-aged and bold men gathered. Everyone would look at him when he passed by.

But if you took a closer look at him, you would notice that he was being very angry.

His fair and beautiful hands were hiding under his coat. He clenched his hands so forcefully that his fingernails turned to the color of white. The small vessels on his hands stood out.

He was an expert at hiding his true feelings. That was why Veronica in her past life could not see through him. Actually many people could not. He seemed to be a gentlman, but as a matter of fact, he had a narrow mind.

He wanted himself to look graceful and elegantly. That was why he behaved like a gentleman.

He enjoyed the adoring eyes from others. That was why he was so gentle.

    ***

Crystal, on the other hand, actually ran away to chase after Veronica.

Indeed, spending time with Jasper without other people around was important. But she thought it would be much more important to collect the evidence of Veronica's cheating behavior.

Veronica was such a stupid girl. She even did not hide her feelings at all. When she said she was going to see a friend, she smiled so shyly. She must be having an affair!

    That was how Crystal thought.
