“Actually, you don’t have to if you don’t wanna go.” Henry finally seize a chance to be alone with Jane after the meal.

“Thanks a lot for everything you have done for my family. But I have my own ideas about my life.” Jane didn't feel like owing people something, even it was Henry McQueen.

“My dear, don’t you wanna leave Wayne Chen? He’s no longer the kid that used to play with us.”

“Yes. You’re correct. Henry, please accept the reality. Our engagement was a history. Now my dad’s dead and we are just friends. As for Wayne, he’s the one who saved my life as well as my family.”

“My dear, you’re still hating me.”

“I was desperate and hopeless when I tried to call you for a thousand times. You never answered or showed up to help me. Yes, I blamed you. I even came to McQueen Corporation’s office building to seek you, but I failed. I redeem you had your own troubles at that time. Now you bought the house back for my family and took care of my mom and my sister when I was not around. I appreciate what you did for me. I’ll pay you what you’ve done for me. Now I only have gratitude not a little bit of hatred for you.”

All sorts of feelings welled up in Henry’s chest as he gazed at the girl standing in front of him.

He couldn’t believe that he truly lost her.

“What are you guys talking about?” Susan showed up.

Jane turned around and smiled, “It’s a secret.”

“Oops, come on, babe. Wayne seems to know more about you than me.”

“You didn’t play with us back then. The three of us used to be a good team.”

“Well, I don’t have a happy childhood.”

“Oh, but you’re my best girlfriend.”

“Yeah, that’s true. In high school, you were the pretty one and I was the straight-A student. We were celebrities around there.”

“Jane is pretty indeed. But how could you be good at study?” Henry asked.

“I was admitted by Yale.”

“Yeah, but you dropped out then.”

“Who cares. But I got in after all.”

“You guys please stop arguing. Actually, I really wish I chose what you two majored in. I was too overwhelmed by the dream of being a musician back then. Now I don’t know anything about business and management.”

“Oh, come on. What’s to worry about? You can ask me or Wayne if you have any questions.

“I’ll take the construction on the land that P&F bought at Hammerfest as a chance to learn and develop myself.”

“So you’re going to take charge?”

“Yeah, I wanna learn more from this project. Although I sometimes went to the construction site with my dad a few years ago, the field of real estate was still completely new to me.”

“But your dad did earn his first money in real estate, then he’s all devoting at the finance. I suggest you learn more about finance. The real estate business is not suitable for a girl like you.” Henry frowned.

“He was tricked and lost all his money for he had engaged in the finance which was complete different from what he’s good at.” Jane was pissed off and was determined to win the Lim Group back.

“Jane, you’re right. I’ll back you up.” Unlike Henry, Susan Lee was always giving support to her friend’s decisions.

The guy took a glance at her--the young girl had several surgeries on the face and she had her sexy model-like body was wrapped in a tight dress, which was extremely seducing to men.

Now Jane’s family had gone bankrupt while she was still the only child of a wealthy family.

There was always a title--G 4--for the top four young rich pretty girls all over F city. Before what had happened to Jane, she was always the No.1 on the list. However, she had been erased and Susan Lee was occupying her old position now.

When both of them were little, Susan was never better than Jane at each and every aspect.

The old time had passed.

After Susan graduated from high school, she had been taking strides in growing and becoming a better self. Now Henry’s parents even tried to convince him to date Susan.

However, the guy loved his first love Jane other than Susan. Jane had something that made her unique, which could never be imitated or learned.

“Jane, I have an appointment this afternoon. I gotta go. Call me.” Susan said to Jane after she checked her phone and then she turned to Henry.

“I might have a few drinks tonight. Henry, what about driving me home? Jane, don’t you mind?”

“You two may go. I’m a little bit tired now and wanna have a nap.” Jane nodded.

The guy was reluctant for he wished to stay with Jane for the entire afternoon. He missed the girl so bad.

After Jane saw them off, the yard was pretty quiet.

The house used to be crowded with family members and servants when she was a little girl.

Jane came to her bedroom after mom and Cindy both had fallen asleep.

Wayne had suggested her to take a few days off. But Jane declined for she didn’t want to be lagged behind in this business competition and she had a lot to learn.

The girl then tucked herself in bed and had made up her mind to put her will to work at Hammerfest for the construction project to Wayne.

Besides, she didn’t have to worry about her mom for she had Cindy and maids to look after her daily life.

The girl was exhausted over the past few days and she fell into deep sleep very soon.

When she opened up her eyes, it was already noon.

She washed her face, put on some makeup, grabbed a jacket and took a cab to P&F office building.

It was 1:00 p.m. when she got there.

Wayne was at his office which was at the top floor of the CBD office building and had the best view of F city. The guy was lost in his thought as Jane knocked his door.

“Mr Chen.” Jane then pushed the door open and stepped in.

“Didn’t I tell you to take a short vacation?” The guy took a glance at her.

“But you come to work then. I don’t need a rest.”

“So what do you want?” Wayne asked directly.

“I want to work at the Hammerfest branch office.” Jane put her application straight forward.

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

“Many things are not as simple as you think.”

“I know. So I need to work harder and be a real businesswoman in future obstacles.”

The guy knew she was doing the right thing. Although he wished Jane could live a happy life away from worries in the future, it just seemed to be impossible.

She needed to grow strong to protect herself.

“Frank, make some preparations and go to Hammerfest with Jane tomorrow.”
