Obviously, Zora didn’t notice this. She was sulking with Sam. She walked away farther and farther. She looked up around the strange area and she was frightened. She took out her phone and realized it was out of power since last night.
By the road side were deserted mountain areas, but if she returned, she would face those ugly faces. Thus, she would rather go on with her way. She believed she could make it without Sam.
However, the more she went on, the more deserted she found the area was. Worse still, there was no vehicle passing by either.
Zora was so tired that she took off her shoes and sat by the roadside. She felt very grieved thinking about what had happened last night.
At last, in the distance, a car was coming forward! She was amazed and waved her hands. But her smile froze after she saw clearly the car. It was the grey Maserati, whose it was she knew very well.
It was Sam’s. He did come back. He saw her and stopped beside her. He got off the car, glanced at her and the shoes beside her. He frowned. Then before she could say something, he dragged her into the car. It was deadly quiet in the car. Sam was silent. He made a quick turn of the car and drove back to where he had come. He came specially for her?
Zora peeped at Sam beside her. She pursed her lips and kept silent.
Sam looked more and more gloomy. Zora tried to move a little bit further from him and the “storm”. But Sam didn’t let her go, he shouted at her, “Why didn’t you answer my phone?”
“Power off.”
This answer clearly annoyed Sam. He replied shortly, “I don’t believe it!” And he took the phone away from her hand and pressed it.
His action was out of Zora’s expectation. She was annoyed and refused to explain.
Sam felt somewhat sorry and returned her the phone.
The scenery outside became familiar and they were back to the city. Zora was sent home. As soon as the car stopped, Zora got off. However, Sam followed her too.
She looked at his expressionless face. She was scared. She didn’t like Sam to go to her house this time. Sam still kept silent and looked at her straight. Zora said reluctantly, “Hem, my room is in a mess, I am afraid.…” Sam replied coldly, “It doesn’t matter.” And he went straight ahead of her.
Oh, dear! She had told him in the phone that they had no any connection. What was Sam’s intention? Was it that he regretted and wanted to keep her?
Then if he begged for her forgiveness, would she agree or refuse?
Zora felt uncertain. She really could not know if she rejected him, what would he do next?
She was frightened thinking about his gloomy face.
Sam stopped in front of the building. Zora didn’t notice and knocked onto his back. She felt painful in her nose. She was irritated. Seeing Sam stand there coldly, she stepped back unconsciously and touched her nose.
Sam said coldly, “Why can’t you walk steadily?”
How could he complain instead of apologizing? Zora stared at him incredibly. She pursed her lips and said nothing.
Sam frowned and asked, “Zora, when can you grow up? The resort is in a deserted area, but you refused the car arranged for you and insisted on going by yourself. And you even refused to answer my phone. If really something happens to you, how do I explain?”
Zora felt surprised that he spoke so much and blamed her.
She replied shortly, “I’ve told you I am responsible for myself.”
Sam was annoyed by this answer and stared at her saying, “Be responsible? Tell me how you will be responsible? Just do as you like? Just take you as the future daughter-in-law of the Shen’s and fire workers directly?”
Zora was surprised that he knew everything so quickly. She could understand that nothing in the company could be hidden from him for being a boss. What annoyed her was why he refused to believe her.
She argued, “That’s because she challenged me at the door of my room. And there’s nothing wrong with me.”
Sam replied in an angry and authoritative voice, “Until now, you still think you are right?”
Zora sneered and responded, “Then in your eyes, what have I done right? Sam, you don’t love me at all, so whatever I do is not appropriate.”
Before Sam could reply, Zora went on shouting at him, “Sam, you just take advantage of my love to you. Have you ever cared about my feeling? I will be hurt too! I will be also sad.”
Sam frowned and answered, “Zoran you are already the future daughter-in-law of the Shen’s.”
Zora felt more and more grieved and wanted to cry, “Sam, do you really need me? What you need is a wife only. You don’t love me at all!”
She felt surprised that she would blame a man for not loving her. She liked Sam. She could just marry him simply, but all these at present were not what she expected.
Zora didn’t want to stay. The man who used to occupy her was strange to her now. she told him in a low voice, “Sam, I don’t love you any more.”
Sam was shocked. He reached out his hand to hold her, but he was refused.
She ran quickly into her house. She didn’t see Sam was left there surprised and painful. All these years, he had been used to her struggling. Sometimes, he could not tell whether it was love or just a habit.
