Dalia knew that from there on out time would move slow for her. Time would always move slow when you were waiting for something. Maybe its always that slow, it just takes something worth waiting for to acknowledge it.
Dalia slept quite peacefully that night, she thought she would've been up forever after Blake left. He had something familiar about him that brought her great comfort.
When morning came she cleaned up, she felt extremely motivated. She was determined to make herself as busy as possible so that the clock would tick faster. She watched a few of movies on Netflix when there was nothing left to clean. After a nice and hot shower she got dressed in her dragon pajamas and lied in bed.
Now was the time that she couldn't go to sleep. She could shut her eyes and lay there but she knew she was trying to hard. "This isn't working."
She made herself some hot chocolate. Most people say warm milk works but unless it has some chocolatey flavor then it has to be cold for her.
Afterwards she grabbed a book and returned to her sitting place on the bed. "Reading always manages to put me to sleep if I do it long enough." She said to herself.
She was right, after about an hour she fell asleep.
The next morning she got on the bus to work and took her keys with her to get her car.
When she arrived she found Danny shirtless with some shorts that ended just above his knees. Luckily he didn't see her as she walked over to Pat to ask what was going on. She was in horror when he explained that all of the sex scenes. would be shot early on that way no one has to deal with it later on and in case a falling out happened. Well a falling out already did happen and she could do was get over it.
She read over the entire script like she was supposed to and agonized even thinking about the fact that she'd have to do any of it.
Eventually it got to the part where she had to sit on top of her sworn enemy while he stripped her of her shirt. She was thankful that she wore a sports bra, she wanted to make sure he saw as little as possible of her.
"Cut!" The director finally shouted, a few moments felt like hours to Dalia. When she tried to get off of Danny pulled her back down, not hard but with enough strength to keep her from going anywhere.
"C'mon stay Dalia." He said in a menacing tone. "Let me go!" She was starting to get really agitated. Danny slid his hand up her back and under her bra. Dalia grabbed his arm but she couldn't move his hand, she only had enough strength to stop it.
No one was paying attention, everyone caught up in their own actions. Dalia wanted to punch him so hard some of his teeth would get knocked out but nothing good would come out of that for her.
Just When she thought she was going to be helpless a fist flew past her face and into Danny's eye causing him to retreat his hands altogether. Those same hands wrapped around her waist and lifted her up to set her on the ground.
To Dalia's surprise it was none other than Blake. The second her feet had touched the ground he removed his hands so he didn't give the same impression of Danny. He gave her his jacket to cover up with before giving his attention to Danny.
"I believe she said to let her go." His voice boomed, that was the sternest she'd ever heard him be before.
"What the f*** dude." Danny got up quick from where he was laying, one hand still over his eye. When he realized that it was the same guy as before he simply and panicky said "Sorry, I didn't know she had a boyfriend." After that he pretty much ran to the dressing room
"Blake what are you doing here? Not that I'm complaining or anything."
"You never gave me your number so how could I know when your next break was. Or were you trying to leave me hanging?"
He let out a small chuckle while fumbling for his phone. When he looked back at her he forgot that she wasn't wearing a shirt and turned away quickly. The image was there in his mind though and he knew he couldn't forget, he wouldn't forget.
"Oh, sorry." Dalia picked up the shirt she was just wearing and put it on quickly. "You're good now." When she saw Blake's face she smiled. "Thank you, you've been helping me out since we met and I feel like I owe you too much."
"Nah, I enjoy it. You make it more.....interesting? Yeah interesting, that's the word." He handed her his phone, she put her number in and vise versa.
"Actually we're doing some pre-things until the show officially starts going. Maybe I can convince the director to let me off for the couple of days before it actually begins."
"Alright that works, but you need to tell him about Danny. You can't keep working with someone like that." Dalia sighed knowing he was right, but she was scared of the outcome. Blake didn't know how much this meant to her.
"Hey, don't worry. Your safety comes before all of this and anyone who doesn't think you're perfect for the job is an idiot."
Maybe he did know what it meant and again he was right.
Dalia strolled away after that and went to a small door the director just went through and knocked. He answered the door and saw Dalia. It was their first time coming face to face in person but they texted about work.
Dalia asked about the break and told the director about Danny. After hearing the second part he was quick to agree to the first part. Pat was right about him being pretty laid back. He was also spot on when it came to staying on his good side.
When they finished their conversation the director went back in the room for a few moments when Dalia heard the intercom go on.
"Danny Huit, Danny Huit, you're fired!"
Dalia felt like bursting out with laughter after that but she managed to contain herself. She strutted back over to Blake. "How'd I do, that good enough?" She asked doing an impression of a rich snob.
"Perfect," Blake laughed.
