They chose a villa on the edge of the district to live. The reason why they didn’t choose a villa in the center was that the one in the center was safer, however, it was much more difficult to get out of it once meeting troubles. Besides, Shawn still needed to go out to hunt zombies and collect their crystal cores. He thought it troublesome to go out from the center.

Ed had no option but to live where Shawn had chosen. Because he would rather not stay too far away from his backer, but insisted on living in the same villa with Shawn.

The brought some furniture from a mall not far after cleaning up the villa district. Ed was too tired to move, and then slumped into the couch.

Shawn looked at Ed in disgust and asked, “Such little work made you dog-tired?”

“I was badly wounded, and have been busy till now. Of course I am tired. I think I am almost half dead.” Ed panted and said.

Shawn was noncommittal, but went upstairs. Ed got his breath back and went back to his own room, too.

In the middle of the night, Shawn left the villa, found a remote place, called in a crowd of zombies, and started collecting crystal cores.

He stopped by a small clinic and a supermarket on his way back. On second thoughts, he went into the clinic and grabbed some medicine. Then he picked some food and clothes from the supermarket. The medicine and food was for Ed, and the clothes were for himself.

That night, he had a sound sleep.

The next day, he grabbed the food and medicine, went downstairs, and threw it to Ed, “Take it, and do something for me.”

Ed had a rough look at that stuff, and then put it side, “What do you want me to do?”

On his present physical conditions, it was indeed inconvenient for him to go out and look for this stuff. It really touched him that Shawn had brought it back for him. However, he would not sell himself over this stuff.

“It could be anything. However, it wouldn’t endanger your life.”

“For how long?”

Shawn thought about it and said, “Six months.” Ed would definitely leave once he recovered from his injury. It wouldn’t help to ask him to stay longer, and six months was just right.

“Three months.” Ed bargained.

Raising his eyebrows, Shawn didn’t expect Ed was in such a hurry.

Ed went on speaking, “It would only take a month to recover from my injury, and I’m going to City B after that. So I can only stay here for another two months at most.”

“Then you have to double the workload.” Since Ed was so determined, Shawn asked for another requirement.

“Deal, but I won’t do anything bad.” Said Ed.

Shawn teased him and thought, since you had killed people, how dare you said you wouldn’t do anything bad?

“I will not ask you to do bad things.”

“Now you can tell me what you want me to do.” Ed had been staying hungry for the whole day and night, and he tore open a pack of hard tack and started eating immediately after reaching an agreement with Shawn.

“In short, you do whatever I ask you to do, and there should be no disobedience.” In fact, Shawn himself didn’t know what exactly he wanted Ed to do. He just didn’t feel like offering Ed food, drinks, and medicine for nothing. That was why he had raise some requirements. Hence he didn’t have any specific answers.

“Your answers are so ambiguous.” Ed ate too fast and were almost choked by hard tack. Immediately he twisted open a bottle of mineral water and drank a big gulp of it.

“Since you have eaten and drunk, there is no way you should regret.” Shawn squinted at crumbs on his lips and the mineral water dripping into his neck, and then immediately looked away. He could not compliment Ed’s table manners.

“...” Ed took another drink of water and said, “No regret. A man should mean what he says.”

Shawn nodded with satisfaction.

“Oh, the shining thing... What’s the name of it?”

“Crystal cores. What a bad memory!”

“Oh, yes, Crystal cores. Could you give me some more?” Being afraid of being refused by Shawn, Ed said immediately after that, “I trade something with you.”

Shawn looked him up and down, and said scornfully, “You? Being poverty and blankness, all your food, drinks, and clothes are provided by me. What can you offer?”

“...” It seemed that he really had nothing to offer, and was a sugar baby. However, life is already hard, so don’t expose the truth!

“I have my body.” Thinking for a long while, Ed said.

“What do I need your body for?” Said Shawn scornfully, “I have no interest in a hard man, especially a badly injured hard man.”

“...” Ed twitched his mouth and said, “I mean I can offer labor services with my body. What are you thinking about?”

“...” Immediately, Shawn felt a little embarrassed, threw a couple of crystal cores to Ed, and then went upstairs, “You owe me one, and I will ask for it back in future.”

Looking at the view of Shawn’s back, Ed wiped his mouth, and thought, it turned out that the backer had such a thin skin.
