As Gu Chencha walked onto the street, she immediately began to feel uncomfortable. She cursed under her breath, not knowing whom to blame. That motherf***er even had the audacity to lay such heavy hands on her. Jiang Nu, do you really not have any consideration for me in your heart?!
He hugged his arms, looking around. The chilly weather of Shanghai in the morning and evening made him shiver. It was probably only around two or three o'clock in the morning by now. In broad daylight, there wouldn't be a single vehicle on the street in this district. If there were, he would be worried that it might be a black car that kidnaps people. This was still an old street, and there were no nightclubs or entertainment venues open in the early hours. Gu Chencha didn't bring any money when he went to the clinic, and his phone was still in that bastard's house.
Now it's impossible to go back. After pondering for a while, he couldn't find a way. Should he wait until the morning to take a taxi back, and then ask his roommate to send money to cover the fare?
As I was thinking, I noticed a figure standing across the street, leisurely strolling along.
Gu Chencha felt an increased sense of familiarity, and eight words came to mind: "A chance meeting, shared sorrow."
Therefore, when that person also noticed him and walked towards him, he didn't hide but instead welcomed him.
As that person approached, he could barely make out in the dim moonlight that it was a thin man in his thirties or forties, slightly shorter than him, with a wrinkled smile on his face. It was unclear whether it was because of the darkness, but the jacket he was wearing appeared dirty, somewhat resembling a worker on a construction site.
"Oh, why are you out so late, bro?" Gu Chencha felt a little uneasy when he saw him without saying a word, so he spoke first to break the awkward silence.
"No, I've always been outside," the person's voice sounded youthful, with a hint of an awkward regional accent.
Could it be a vagabond? Gu Chencha thought to herself, and then heard him ask, "Brother, what are you doing outside at this time?"
Gu Chencha pretended to be calm and replied, "I ran away after arguing with my dad. At this moment, he's probably looking for me to give me a good scolding."
"That's not good. How about we find somewhere else to talk?" That person even started to show a smirk, resembling a cunning Big Bad Wolf pretending to be Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother.
Gu Chencha thought to himself, "If it were your mom, how would I know if you want my kidney or my body? But I still replied, 'There's no need for that. I'll leave with him when he arrives. If we cause a scene, we won't have any money to spend tomorrow.' However, his tone clearly turned cold.
However, the man still didn't leave. In fact, he came closer and said, "Since you have money, can you lend some to me, bro?"
Gu Chencha instinctively took a step back. If he had money at the moment, he would definitely have given it to her to avoid any trouble. However, he really did not have a single penny now. Bracing himself, he said, "Do I look like I have money, dressed like this? How about you lend me some for a cab ride home?"
The man narrowed his eyes and fell silent. Gu Chencha hadn't even reacted yet when he caught a glimpse of the man, who was half a head shorter than him, charging towards him. Gu Chencha couldn't block his approach and ended up falling to the ground.
The person's skills were not impressive, but he had targeted the wound on Gu Chencha's head. As soon as his head started to ache, his leg unexpectedly cramped. The person couldn't wait for him to get up, so he kneeled down and struck at his face. Gu Chencha was forced to lie on the ground and endured numerous kicks to his head.
He felt his face was slippery and knew there was definitely a nosebleed. He also didn't know if the wound on his forehead had split open. Then, in a dazed state, he felt that person trying to take off his pants.
Gu Chencha was well aware that homosexuality was not yet widely accepted to the point where it was commonplace. This caused him to feel a great panic about what he should do with his little brother inside his pants.
He struggled in a daze, and not long after, he suddenly felt a lightness on his body. He sat up and saw a familiar figure had already lifted the person off him, and with a few punches, knocked that person to the ground, unable to get up.
