The alpha stood tall and commanding, with a cold frost coating his face. His handsome features were aloof and distant, emanating an imposing aura of authority, like an untouchable deity.
He seemed completely indifferent, not even bothering to cast a sideways glance as he walked past Flower's side, accompanied by a group of subordinates. He didn't spare a single glance for him.
Huatuan knew that he had lost his memory. He remembered everything, except for the memories of the three years he lived with himself in a remote and impoverished town. It seemed as if those memories, to his now esteemed self, were like a stain, forgotten as if it were only natural.
But he clearly is the person who once vowed to dedicate his life to treat oneself well...
"Why can't I remember anything at all?"
"Sir," an officer snapped Huatuan, who was lost in deep sadness. "Please go in, the marshal is waiting for you."
This is the first meeting between Huatuan and Gu Chenzhou after more than seven months apart.
At one end of an oval-shaped long table, suitable for accommodating multiple attendees, Gu Chenzhou sat while Hua Tuan sat at the other end, gazing at each other from a distance.
"Do you claim to know the whereabouts of the Moon Clan's undercover agent? Is it true?" Gu Chenzhou remained silent as he sat flanked by two vice-captains. One of them asked in a cold and indifferent tone.
Hua Tuan just tightly held the hand hidden under the table, only looking at Gu Chenzhou and said, "Could you... ask these two officials to leave for a moment?"
He spoke cautiously, unexpectedly making a request. It was the first time he had spoken to his alpha in such a tone, because he couldn't gauge the man's current mood.
If it were in the past, just hearing his alpha speak in such a cautious and even timid tone would make his heart ache.
Gu Chenzhou finally spoke up. His facial expression remained unchanged, his voice as pleasant as before, but the words that came out were completely different.
He said, "You don't have the qualification."
This is the Marshal, revered by thousands, treating a filthy and destitute commoner with the expected distance and indifference.
Hua Tuan pursed her lips, feeling a slight acidity in her throat for a moment. She gently touched her stomach and said, "I don't know where the undercover agent of the Moon Clan you're talking about might be."
"Ridiculous!" Another deputy slapped the table. He had a handsome face but seemed to have a bad temper. "You're fabricating military intelligence! Wasting Marshal's time! Don't think being an omega gives you the freedom to do as you please. I'm telling you, if you violate military orders, no matter how rare and valuable you are, you'll still be punished!"
"Zichao," the first officer to speak, who happened to be Qimu, pushed his glasses up and said, "Don't bring personal emotions into your work. The Marshal knows how to handle things."
Qiu Zichao sat down with a frown, his gaze questioning as he looked towards Gu Chenzhou, who was seated at the main seat.
Gu Chenzhou raised his wrist, his pale eyes sweeping over the wristwatch. His voice was cool as he said, "Seven minutes, punishment according to time."
He wasted his precious seven minutes. After speaking, Gu Chenzhou didn't look at Huatuan again, as if he had already condemned Huatuan and deemed it unworthy of his gaze. He got up and walked towards the door.
As the group passed by Huatuan, who had only spoken two sentences, they were deprived of their right to speak and suddenly, Huatuan, who had been treated like air, spoke up.
He lowered his head, one hand squeezing the fingers of the other hand, his voice soft, "Four years ago... in the Taoyuan Town, it was me who saved you."
Guchen Zhou's foot, which had already stepped out of the doorway, suddenly paused.
On the rough and crude navy blue clothing stretched over his round, bulging belly, droplets of water spread out in small circles, deepening the color.
When Huatuan cries, there is no sound. Unlike other small omega who cry and act spoiled, he has rarely cried since childhood. No one has pampered him, and he endures all his emotions alone.
However, at this moment, he was silently crying, tears swiftly drenching his clothes, seeping through the thin fabric and making his stomach feel hot.
Every word he said afterwards completely overturned Gu Chenzhou's previous understanding.
"I am your omega, the one you hold a bouquet of flowers and a box of candies for, kneeling down to beg me, saying that I am your most beloved little omega..."
