After just finishing the last exam of the first semester at university, Luan Xi hurriedly returned to the dormitory and grabbed the already packed suitcase. He rushed to the school gate in a flurry of excitement. He had already booked a ride to the airport on a ride-sharing app on his phone yesterday afternoon.

Shen Li also has the temperament of a child. A few days ago, when he was on the phone with Mrs. Yan discussing the time for the winter holiday to go home, Shen Li was shouting on the other end of the phone, saying that he missed her and wanted to see Luan Xi as soon as possible. He even reminded her not to forget about the promise they made last time. Shen Li held the cake box and opened it on the small coffee table in front of the television. After looking at it for a while, he prepared to pick up the disposable plastic knife that came with it to start cutting the cake.

"You always spoil him the most. Not long ago, Shen Li complained of a toothache, and you took him to the hospital to have his cavities inspected. Just when he had stopped eating sweets, now you bring them right to his doorstep." Yan Jiexu looked at his eldest son and complained half-jokingly, "He won't listen to me and won't refuse to eat today."

At night, considering that it had been so long since Shen Li had seen the other person, he wanted to use the excuse of sleeping together to strengthen their connection, and slipped into Lan Xi's bedding. After a few months apart, the two of them once again shared a bed, giving him a feeling of returning to before they entered university. These things seemed boring to Luan Xi, but the child was still talking about them with great interest. As Luan Xi listened, he gradually felt drowsy. It wasn't his fault though; he had gotten up early in the morning to take an exam, and right after finishing the exam, he hurriedly rushed to his home over a thousand kilometers away. Anyone would feel exhausted.

"Do you want to sleep?" Shen Li listened to the sound of his breathing gradually becoming calm, quietly turned over in his embrace, and faced Luan Xi.

In the dark room, Shen Li blinked his eyes quietly, waiting for a while without any response from Luan Xi. Only then did he confirm that he had fallen asleep.

After thinking for a while, Shen Li gently stood up and planted a kiss on Luan Xi's forehead, just like how Aunt Yan would do before he went to sleep. Oh, right, Aunt Yan had told him that it was a goodnight kiss, meant to bring pleasant dreams. After giving the kiss, Shen Li returned to his original position and lay back down, resting his head against the nape of Luan Xi's neck, ready to sleep. Luan Xi had finally come back today, and Shen Li thought to himself that he had eagerly awaited the person he missed the most for an entire semester.
