Putting down her phone, Cheng Jin closed her eyes to take a short break. There were too many things on her mind, making her feel heavy-headed. Perhaps it was because the room was too quiet, and the bed was too comfortable that she couldn't help but feel drowsy. She dozed off, with her head tilted to one side, in a hazy and sleepy state.

Mu Rui woke up this time. After lying flat, he stretched out a big yawn and then blinked his eyes hard, finally able to see the brightly lit room clearly.

The phone on the bedside table vibrated twice.

Mu Rui sat up and went to grab it. Subconsciously, he thought it was his own phone and glanced at the lit screen.

Hey! Happy birthday, great god! Wishing you blessings as vast as the Eastern Sea, and longevity as...

The words after that cannot be seen because it was taken from Cheng Jin's phone. His current posture is with his elbow propped on the bed, and his arm and upper body cast a faint shadow on Cheng Jin.

    Today is his birthday?

As he was pondering, Cheng Jin seemed to have sensed something and slowly opened his eyes. Mu Rui quickly sat up and placed his phone beside the pillow. He spoke, "It seems like someone has sent you a message."

Upon hearing this, Cheng Jin immediately woke up. His pair of black eyes seemed to have been wiped clean, shining brightly. He sat up and picked up the phone that Mu Rui had gestured to him. When he saw the message, he smiled. His friends in the circle really cared about him, even though they got the date wrong. Personal information in the gaming circle isn't real.

After seeing him finish reading the message with a good mood, Mu Rui thought for a moment and said, "We don't have class this morning, do you want to go out for a meal?"

"No need, it's too troublesome," Cheng Jin replied, seemingly surprised, quickly declining politely.

"If you consider me a friend, then please don't refuse," he said.

Cheng Jin lowered his head and said, "I won't stay here for too long."

This means that he probably won't stay until lunchtime. Mu Rui scratched his head and said, "Alright, then let's have breakfast together. Do me a favor."

In fact, these past few days, they went to the bar together and occasionally chatted. In Cheng Jin's heart, he already considered Mu Rui as a friend. He had never had so much interaction with a stranger classmate before.

Cheng Jin smiled lightly and nodded, "Good."

Mu Rui went downstairs to buy breakfast. It was steaming hot with buns and fried dough sticks. Since there was often no one at home and it was a bit messy, the kitchen was definitely not usable. So, he bought ready-made hot porridge and soy milk to cater to his own taste.

They're all boys, so there's no need to be too polite.

Two people, wearing evening t-shirts, sat beside the table, chewing on the food inside the plastic bags on the dining table.

The living room was bathed in a soft golden sunlight, a thin layer that filtered through the window and cast a corner of the sofa. It was a beautiful sunny day. The light glimmered like gilding, spreading slowly from the window onto the backs of the two individuals. The plastic bag rustled faintly, filling the room with the sound of a meal being eaten.

"Do you know how to play the guitar?"

Cheng Jin took the initiative to speak up and asked, his gaze falling on the black guitar case at the corner of the dining table.

Mu Rui didn't react at first, but when he followed his gaze, he suddenly realized what he meant. He smiled sheepishly and said, "I bought all of these a long time ago. I used to be really skilled at them, but now I only play during holidays when I come back home."

"Pretty good," Cheng Jin murmured as he took a bite of the steamed bun, offering his praise.

Mu Rui is also carefree. If you say that occasionally he can think more about things when he is quiet, then he is a very cheerful person in front of others.

The sunlight in spring is not scorching, but rather warm and gentle, making the room bright and radiant.

Mu Rui's original feeling of apology in his heart suddenly became more relaxed. He no longer felt hesitant to speak in front of Cheng Jin. He smiled suddenly and said with a hint of guilt, "Cheng Jin, I've always wanted to apologize to you for that matter."

Cheng Jin was somewhat puzzled and looked up at him.

"Just... You submit a criticism report on him."

"It's okay, you don't have to worry about it."

Cheng Jin felt a faint pain in his heart, but he maintained a calm and indifferent expression on his face. He did not think that it was Mu Rui's fault at all, or perhaps he was completely unaware of what was going through the other person's mind at that moment. The more Cheng Jin said this, the more guilty Mu Rui felt. He merely lowered his head and ate voraciously, with crumbs of steamed buns still clinging to the corners of his mouth.

    "What are your hobbies usually?"

"Hobbies..." Cheng Jin pondered for a moment. From childhood to adulthood, he had always been constantly doing things, to the point where even playing games didn't bring him joy because he was a part-time programmer, and it didn't feel enjoyable for him.

"Just now you asked me about the guitar, do you play music?"

I just happened to think of something else and asked. Although I like it, I don't understand it. I usually spend more time dealing with computers.

    Like this...

Cheng Jin suddenly asked, "Mu Rui, do you know the song 'Green Sleeves'?"

    "Understood."

Mu Rui held the guitar in one hand again, and with the other hand he stuffed a bun into his mouth. He raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at Cheng Jin, causing the temperature in the room to rise.

"Can you play the guitar?" Cheng Jin hesitated for a moment before speaking, his fingers with the two chopsticks he held paused over the bowl of soup and porridge.

"Of course, you want to hear it?" Mu Rui didn't really care.

Upon hearing these words, Cheng Jin's eyes revealed a glimmer of joy. "It's not that I want to listen, but... can you come with me to the hospital? My mother is sick. She said that when she was still with my father, she used to hear him play this piece, and she really liked it."
