Cen Xiuzhi raised an eyebrow, quieting his voice as he silently hid behind, listening to the conversation between the two people up ahead.
Su Che's voice is very easy to recognize, although he is in the midst of adolescence, his voice is not at all rough. Compared to others, his voice is delicate and soft, sounding very pleasant. Besides, he is also very good-looking, which easily makes people have a favorable impression of him.
The two of them walked for a while and then stopped. Sensing keenly, Cen Xiuzhi noticed that Gu Jin's right hand was wrapped in a thick layer of gauze, as if it had been injured.
Su Che held Gu Jin's hand and showed a expression of distress. With a soothing tone, she said, "Gu Jin, what happened today should be kept a secret between you and me. Please don't tell anyone. But I hope that such things will not happen again in the future, okay?"
Cen Xiuzhi thought to himself, what else about Gu Jin and other men could his fiance, who is yet to be married, not know about?
As a man, one must possess a broad mind and should never stoop to their level," Su Che held Gu Jin's hand and spoke softly, "Gu Jin, your strength should be used to protect the important people in your life, not for seeking revenge, understand?"
Cen Xiu realized that the current Su Che had already started to seek goodwill in front of Gu Jin and attempted to make contact and infiltrate Gu Jin's life, in an attempt to change his personality.
Su Che and Gu Jin had an intimate conversation before Su Che smiled and waved his hand to leave. Gu Jin headed towards the second floor, seemingly planning to finish his meal before returning to his own room.
Cen Xiuzhi crossed his arms and leaned against the tree trunk. He tapped his chin with his fingertips for a moment, then hooked the corner of his lips.
He went up from the first-floor balcony and, when he reached the corner of the corridor, he instead witnessed a different scene.
Two or three maids were surrounding a young boy, their hands on their hips with angry expressions. The young boy knelt on the ground, picking up shards of glass from the floor. Judging from his back, he did not seem to be Gu Jin. However, considering that this was Gu Jin's residence, Cen Xiuzhi felt that he couldn't act as though he hadn't seen anything.
"What are you all doing?" Cen Xiuzhi's tone was extremely cold. The few maidservants were taken aback and looked up, only to find that it was the young master of the Chu family. A hint of panic emerged: "Chu, Young Master Chu!"
"This ignorant child shattered the glass bowl that we were about to take to the kitchen. It was just bought today, and if the mistress finds out, she will definitely deduct our wages. It's really...," one of the maids couldn't help but complain.
Cen Xiuzhi: "Alright, I'll just mention this matter to Madam Shao. If you have something urgent to do, go ahead. You adults are blaming the children, don't you feel embarrassed?"
Upon hearing Cen Xiuzhi's reproachful words, the faces of the three maids turned considerably ugly. However, they didn't say anything and left from here with shoving and pushing.
The kneeling boy continued to pick up the fragments in silence. Cen Xiuzhi shot him a sidelong glance, then grabbed the back of his collar and pulled him away from his original spot. The force was too strong, nearly causing the boy to stumble to the ground. He lifted his eyes and glanced at Cen Xiuzhi.
Cen Xiuzhi looked up at him and as soon as their eyes met, he immediately recognized who he was—it was Chen Yihan, Gu Jin's future personal assistant.
"What are you still picking up? There are maids to handle that." Cen Xiuzhi knew that he wouldn't feel any gratitude in his heart; he would only remember how he grabbed his collar and made him fall to the ground.
Seeing Chen Yihan, Cen Xiuzhi immediately recalled how miserable he had made Gu Jin. He coldly sneered and said, "Why aren't you leaving? You're blocking the way here."
