Winnie took back her hands from the table and put on her legs clenched tightly. She felt grave because she knew it was not a good thing to her that her father appreciated Saxon so much.

She was depressed and from Saxon’s laughter, she could know without seeing that Saxon was focusing his eyesight on her. He was saying, "Yes, Winnie was a good girl. She respects you filially…"

Hearing what Saxon said, Winnie was frightened as if she were gazed by a hunter.

Then a big hand was put on her hands lying on her legs. The warmth of the touch almost scared Winnie to her feet, because she knew whose hand it was.

He kept on talking with Winnie’s father calmly, but his hand was holding Winnie’s under the table.

Though his touch was gentle, Winnie was scared to death. She could not understand why last night he threatened her with the land, but only after one night, he helped her father voluntarily.

Even at school, the question still lingered in Winnie’s mind. She kept silent because she dared not to ask Saxon. Saxon totally understood what Winnie was thinking. He didn’t disturb her but sat beside observing her joyfully. He knew Winnie was still too young to conceal what she was thinking in her mind.

At the moment, Winnie’s facial expression was very rich showing she was struggling in her heart, so sometimes she frowned, sometimes, she bit her lip. Saxon was enjoying all the movements on Winnie’s face. Suddenly Winnie’s face turned pale, widely opened her eyes and stared forward blankly.

Saxon was surprised. He was eager to know what made Winnie change so emotional.

Before he turned around, he heard a girl’s voice.

"Hello, everyone. I am a new comer. My name is Sherry Su!"

Saxon looked up and saw Sherry standing on the platform smiling gently. When she caught sight of Saxon, she smiled to him brightly. She nodded at him and turned around to say to the teacher standing beside her, "Teacher, can I sit beside Saxon Fu? We are friends. He will help me get to know the school surroundings."

Winnie was very angry hearing this familiar excuse. So she called out Sherry Su’s name and gave her a warning.

Winnie had been quiet the whole morning. To everyone’s surprise, she suddenly shouted out bossily, "I refuse to change seat with this new classmate!"

Saxon was shocked as well as Sherry and the teacher beside her.

Sherry slowly turned to the girl who refused her just now. She looked pretty and gentle, but from what she said just now, she was quite tough actually.

Sherry was surprised to notice the girl’s eyesight on her. She wondered why such a pretty and gentle girl would reject her so definitely, and…hostilely…

Sherry glanced at Saxon sitting beside Winnie. She supposed Saxon would say something for her but when she saw clearly Saxon’s expression, she was completely upset.

Saxon’s attention was focused on that girl. Since she knew Saxon, she had never seen such gentle and affectionate eyesight from him.

Sherry felt scared seeing this. The atmosphere in the classroom was embarrassing. Saxon kept silent and Winnie went on with her job after refusing Sherry’s request.

The teacher was surprised too. To ease the situation, the teacher said to the student sitting behind Saxon, "Rory, Can you change your seat with the new classmate?"

Saxon was sure Winnie was very upset and unhappy since Sherry came. She was annoyed by him too.

She didn’t talk to him or even paid him a look. She would hide away even when he tried to take her hand. Sometimes she stayed outside after class. After all, they were in school. Winnie didn’t want to lose face. So Saxon didn’t try to argue with Winnie.

He just chatted with Sherry sitting behind them now and then, but his eyes were focusing on Winnie.

As soon as school was over, Sherry dragged Saxon by the shoulder and said gently, "Saxon, can we have supper together. I came to the school for you. Don’t you welcome me？"

Winnie was packing up when she heard "I came here for you." She paused for a while, bit her lip and then sped up her job.

Saxon noticed this and felt interesting. He turned to Sherry smilingly waiting there. He felt annoyed and hesitated how to reply her.
