Alyssa's eyes went wide when she saw that her brother was in danger. Before she knew it, she dashed over, clutched the back of a sofa, pushed herself up, and landed a kick on the guy who was about to hurt her brother. The guy staggered backwards. Before he could steady himself, she punched him in the eye and kicked him in the crutch. The guy fell to the floor, his miserable screams echoed through the club.
Alyssa picked up a wine bottle and cracked it on a corner of a table. Holding half of the broken bottle in hand, she pointed the sharp glass at the man’s throat and shouted, "Don’t move! Or I’ll slit his throat!”
All of a sudden, everybody was quiet.
All eyes were on her.
She looked at the other punks and warned with a menacing expression on her face, "One move and he gets cut!”
Damn! My sister is so awesome! Gareth thought.
"Alyssa!”
he called, running to her. "Beat it!” Alyssa berated. "You're a student. What are you doing here? And why are you fighting?”
She looked at him sternly. The smile on Gareth’s face faded when he heard her words.
"This guy was harassing my classmate,” he explained, pointing at a girl in the crowd.
The girl was pretty, wearing makeup and a white strapless dress covered in pearls. The dress was so short most of her long legs were bare. Dressed like this, no wonder the predators were after her, Alyssa thought.
As a woman, even she herself found the girl attractive.
"She deserved it!
As a student, she shouldn’t have dressed like that,”
Alyssa chided.
The girl, on the other hand, was willful and ungrateful.
"What of the way I dress myself? I like it. Just because you don’t like my dress, you think I should be molested?” she argued.
Alyssa was pissed. What the hell? I saved you, and this is how you repay me? You never learn, do you? You little ungrateful brat! If I were a man, I would rape you myself!
Alyssa saw no point wasting any more time on this girl. She withdrew the broken bottle from the guy's neck and said in a careless tone, "You like that girl?
Now you can do whatever you want to her. I don’t care. If you want to take her to a hotel, I’d be even glad to pay for the room!
What the heck is wrong with me? I shouldn’t have gotten myself involved in the first place! Dammit! I’ve never seen anyone so ungrateful!”
She threw the broken bottle away. It shattered on the floor with a loud crack. Even so, none of those men dared to approach her. They had all seen how good she was at fighting.
Once his neck was safe, the guy on the floor got to his feet quickly and started running for his life. His minions followed after him.
Hearing Alyssa's remark, the girl pouted, her cheeks bulging from anger and astonishment. She hadn't expected Alyssa to change her attitude so quickly or to say something so harsh in front of so many people.
"Alyssa, calm down,” Gareth comforted her.
He always knew that Alyssa got a temper. His sister raised one hand to stop him from saying anything else. She looked rueful and upset.
Then she told her brother, "Go home! Now! Or I’ll call Dad.”
Gareth retorted, "Fine! I’m going home now. You have fun. But if you come home late, I’ll tell Dad.”
Alyssa glared at him and walked over to kick him. But he knew his sister too well to linger any longer to get that kick. As soon as he finished speaking, he fled the bar.
