Jane saw that William kissed the back of Babe’s hand gently and smiled at her softly when she entered the hall. Jane still could not accept it when he was close with other women although she decided to break up with William.
Jane was so sad and unhappy, but others in the house did not think so.
Mrs. Swift thought he must try to accept Babe when he got close to Babe actively. She was so happy when she reached the target.
Babe was excited when she found the one that she loved became so close and aggressive to her. She was so shy when William praised her.
While Jack just walked to the sofa directly, ignoring what William had done before.
Jack was the master of the Swift family and he should sit on the chief sofa, so Babe had to stand up to make a seat for Jack.
“Come here, Babe, next to me.” William said with Babe to take her out of the dilemma. Babe was not that a lady with culture from a big family, so she must catch the chance to get close to William. She hurried to William when she heard his words.
Jane sat next to Jack. Babe was so close to William and she kept saying “William”. She even brought the right arm of William to her chests and she tried to get closer to William. William said nothing when she got so close, and he also did not reject the touch of Babe, which made Jane so angry.
Jane became so mad for such behavior of Jane, and she even forgot to cover the emotion, forgetting the existence of Jack. Jack saw the eyes and expression of Jane clearly and he did not miss her anger at this time. It seemed to be that Jane lied to him and he thought it was necessary to figure it out again.
Mrs. Swift wanted to create more opportunity and chance for William and Babe since they got along well with each other, so she asked Babe to have a dinner.
Jack did not ask Jane to go to the kitchen since there was outside.
During the period of waiting for a meal, Mrs. Swift asked William to show Babe around the house.
Jack came to the study room on the second floor and he asked Jane to spend time on the first floor. Jane hated to see the scenery that William talked with other women happily, so she came to her own room.
William pretended to like Babe to stimulate Jane. Actually, he was sick with her.
William was in a slight habit of cleanliness and he hated to be touched by others. The sweet perfume worn by Babe with the taste of cosmetics made William feel sick. Now, Jane went to her room, so William had no need to coax Babe.
William push Babe away from him and he made an excuse that he wanted to take a rest in his own room. He asked her to hang around alone. Babe was confusing about his sudden change in attitude; however, she wanted to leave him a good impression, so she just kept silent.
Jane had no appetite on the table, and she became worse when she found William served Babe with food happily.
After finishing the meal, Jack asked William to send Babe to the Davis and then he asked Jane to his study room.
Jane became so nervous for no reason in each time she entered the study room. The curtain in the room was not opened and the room was so dark with a sense of oppression. Jane seldom went to the study room of Jack and she only came to the room with the requirement of Jack.
Jack only asked Jane to his room for two reasons, making mistake or something to ask. Today, it was the later one, obviously.
“Jane, what’s wrong with you? You look so bad. And you have no appetite for the dinner. Are you sick?” What Jack was good at was to make his target to tell him everything.
“No, uncle. I am not sick. I just have no appetite.” Jane answered Jack but she lied to him.
“You have told me that you don’t love William, so what’s wrong today? Are you jealous when he is happy with the other woman?” Jack just asked what he wanted to know directly.
Actually, Jane could know it. She did not hold herself to behave obviously today, so Jack must know that she lied to him, but it was so surprised that Jack would ask him so directly.
“No, uncle. I am mad with the behavior of President Swift, but I am not jealous.” Jane had made some words for him. Jack became interested when Jane admitted that she was angry, so he raised the brows with a smile.
“Move on.”
“Uncle, do you remember the Director Fox in the company of President Swift’s company?” Jane asked Jack of the question.
Jack was silent and he seemed to forget it.
“I know nothing when I enter the company. It was the Director Fox, Summer, taught me everything. She treated me as her younger sister and she also taught me the original design of game.” All the good things Summer did for her came to her mind. “Summer had followed President Swift for years and she had loved him for a long time; however. Summer was so gentle, and she is not brave to tell President Swift. After knowing her feeling to President Swift, I really want to help her.” All of these were true and now she did want to match up these two people.
Jack hinted Jane to move on.
“However, Uncle Jack, do you think President Swift was so bad today? Summer treats him well and she is affectionate and exclusive, but President Swift could get along well with a girl that they just know for a while. Summer is better than the Miss Davis in all aspects, but President Swift wastes the love of Summer. I do feel pity for Summer!”
Most of these were true and Jack must be capable to identify the truth or the false since he had been a businessman for years. Jane’s explanation was so reasonable, so it could eliminate the doubt of Jack on her.
“I get it. You are so innocent, and you often take others affair as yours. You should be careful of being used.” Then, Jack changed the topic with one sentence.
“No, I won’t! Summer is not that person.” Jane hurried to refute.
Jack smiled and he said it was late and she should go back to take a rest. Hence, the conversation came to an end.
