Shawn walked out of the bathroom with his hands in his pockets, took a glance at Ed, who was holding bread of which a piece had been bitten, walked to the bed, and sat down.

“I’m getting more and more curious about how exactly handsome you are?” Taking another bite of bread, Ed said as he was chewing.

“Curiosity killed the cat.” Shawn said calmly.

“Well, well, well, as long as you are satisfied.” Knowing that Shawn would not let his appearance be seen, Ed stopped asking him about it. Instead, he asked Shawn another question, “How much do you know about the present situation?”

“I only know that humans have turned into zombies, and the doomsday is coming.” Said Shawn. He was frightened by the scenes he caught, only thought about running away out of instinct, and had no time to think about what had happened. Neither could he find others to ask about it. Therefore, he did not have many clues about it.

Ed hesitated for a while and said, “Well actually, a black fog suddenly appeared seven days ago, and all people passed out. The world totally changed while they woke up. Some became zombies who only wanted to eat people, and others who had survived all got panic due to the sudden change.”

Seven days ago? So it had been seven days. He was outside for two days. If so, had he been asleep for five days before waking up?

“When did humans wake up?”

“The day after the black fog appeared. It was said by experts that there was something which could make people fall into a coma in the black fog, and all passed out. They woke up naturally the next day as effects were gone.” Said Ed. He was so starving that he quickly ate up a piece of bread, took out another piece, and continued to eat.

“The government didn’t care?” Thinking of what had happened, Shawn thought the government should take swift action.

“Of course they did care. However, there were so many zombies, plus those who would break the law and commit crimes once the country fell into chaos. How could they handle all those problems?” Ed said lazily, “At first they sent troops to destroy zombies, however, casualties were rather heavy. Eventually, they could only set a base in the area where there were few zombies. They started sending people for search and rescue while informing those survivors to go to the base.”

Shawn also understood how hard it was to manage all those problems. It was not bad to establish a base swiftly. However, base on his previous experiences, lots of people must have stayed in cities. 　　

“It was really pretty easy for a country to fall into chaos.” Ed said with feeling.

“Such things only happened in Z Country?” Asked Shawn.

Ed shook his head and said, “They happened all around the world. There is nowhere to escape.”

The doomsday was really coming, Shawn thought.

“Although it has only lasted for seven days, don’t trust others easily. Stay alert while seeing others, or you will suffer losses, even lose your life.” Anyway his life was saved by Shawn, and he should remind the guy of the possible danger, he thought.　　

“Are you suggesting that I should beware of you?” Shawn raised his eyebrows.

Ed was about to drink some milk. Hearing of this, he was almost choked, “Cough! Cough! You... Never mind, you’ve got a point there.”

They were both strangers, and had only got along with each other for one day. There was definitely no trust between each other. What Shawn said was nothing wrong. However, Ed was rather pissed off.

“What about super power?” Shawn could hardly wait to ask the next question after having a basic understanding of the outside situation.

Although Ed was pissed off, he knew on his present physical conditions, he could only rely on Shawn for now. Since Shawn had saved him out of the crowd of zombies safely, Shawn was not rather weak. He could not make a movement yet, and it would be unwise to annoy Shawn. Therefore, Ed answered honestly.

“The super power was found by accident. While facing the threat of death, some people wakened their abilities. The abilities were so much like the super power described in novels and movies that they were called the super power for now. However, the details and classifications are still unknown. The most common super powers are metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.” Ed stretched for a while to relax his stiff legs, “At present, the super power is so weak that it could not kill a zombie yet. However, people are convinced that it would grow stronger someday. And based on contents of novels, crystal cores are also found in zombies’ heads.”

“Nowadays, many who have super powers show off to much, and think they are the Saviour. Interesting! They are asking for the moon. They are good at nothing but showing off and playing cool.” Ed said with a smile of tease, “Do they really think everything will be fine and they will be invincible once they get super powers?”

Shawn listened quietly, and thought about various super powers described in novels. He didn’t know whether he had got a super power. If so, there would be the basic guarantee for the safety of his life.

“Didn’t expect that things in books would become true.” Shawn sighed.

“Yes, nobody could anticipate it.”

“So was someone caught for experiments?”

“I’ve no idea. Even so, the experiments must have been carried out secretly. Nobody would speak out.”

They talked back and forth for a while. Shawn had a basic understanding of the present situation. Seeing Ed looking weary, Shawn let him take a rest first.
