The sports meeting arrived as scheduled, with lush greenery and chirping birds in the April air, bringing a refreshing atmosphere to the school.
The golden sunlight streamed through the leaves, casting shadows on the playground. As it was late spring, the heat was not too intense, making it feel warm.
Because the school organized it in a grand manner, everyone quickly found the feeling of being in high school again, a kind of ultimate relaxation, wholeheartedly immersing themselves in the lively atmosphere of the event.
On the observation deck next to the playground, several students from the school were sitting, each holding their own sign. The girls in the cheerleading squad were wearing loose pants, with loose-style tops that resembled tank tops, and had little silver pieces dangling from their clothes, making a jingling sound. They all tied their hair into ponytails, exuding a vibrant and energetic aura.
"Come on! Come on! Go, electrical engineering!"
"Go, go! Come on, life science!"
Cheers could be heard one after another from all directions, as students in red uniforms continued to move along the running track. The classmates from the student council had set up tables and chairs in front of the stands, offering some beverages, mineral water, and snacks.
I heard that Cheng Jin has signed up for several sports projects.
"The men's 100-meter, 3000-meter, and tomorrow's 400-meter relay race," the girl next to him whispered with a giggle.
"Wow, so impressive! He's usually quiet, it's hard to tell."
"Yeah, yeah, but I'm really looking forward to it."
"A campus, we should put in more effort to support it."
"Absolutely."
You can tell that although Cheng Jin rarely interacts with people, this sense of aloofness actually makes him quite popular among girls. When asked for help once in a while, he isn't all that indifferent and is willing to lend a hand, although he may not say much.
Mu Rui chewed on a lollipop, wearing a black and white baseball cap. A few strands of hair peeked out from the front, and he sat on the steps of the bleachers, resting his chin on his hand. His shiny eyes were fixed on the opening ceremony happening in the distant playground, which was not as formal as the school-wide sports day held in November, after all.
Hearing the conversation of the girl next to him, he couldn't help but think that this guy was still the type to hide his true self.
The azure sky is rarely seen, it seems that today is an exceptionally good day.
"Mu Rui, what did you participate in?"
Four hundred meter relay race.
A friend from the same class tossed a bottle of mineral water over and sat down in the empty seat next to him.
"Tomorrow, huh."
"Uh, there's not much excitement in the sports meet, I don't really feel like participating."
Hahaha, I knew it, it seems like the squad leader must have insisted on sending you to the relay race."
He's too annoying, can't refuse him.
Mu Rui had a helpless expression as he slightly squinted his eyes in the face of the sun.
He usually gets along well with the boys in his class. In the male dormitory, they often wander around aimlessly, watching movies and playing games together. They are the type of friends who are everywhere.
In the morning, there was a 100-meter sprint. I saw Cheng Jin again after the competition. He was sitting in front of the booth provided by the student union, with a girl handing him a towel.
Mu Rui noticed that he had cut his hair.
The short hair in the front was slightly curled up, revealing his forehead. He looked refreshingly bright, with a face that was smaller than most guys but still sharp and distinct. The sunlight shone on the side of his face, making it particularly dazzling. His originally pale complexion had a slight flush from running and breathing heavily.
No wonder so many girls like him, it's a world where looks matter.
Murui felt a slight sense of indignation in his heart.
Soon, a day quietly passed amidst the lively and jubilant cheers. As dusk approached, the boys helped move the things into the equipment room, while the remaining ones dispersed in small groups.
While Murui and the others were helping to move the tables, a few children passed by the playground in a hurry. They accidentally collided with the edge of the table, causing the chairs on top to make a clanging sound and tilt straight down.
"Damn it!"
Mu Rui quickly reached out with one hand and grabbed onto the chair. At the same time, the little child beside him was hastily pulled away by a female classmate from the student council.
Avoiding hitting the children, Mu Rui had a stroke of bad luck.
The chair was too heavy, and he unexpectedly went to catch it. He collided forcefully with the corner of the nearby table and only then did it slide to the ground. His thumb was left with a gash, and blood started to flow profusely.
Oh!
The girl next to him was startled and rushed over to help. Mu Rui handed the table over to others to move, waving his hand to everyone, saying it's fine. He casually tore some napkins and pressed them on his right thumb, then headed towards the exit of the playground.
"Go back and put on a band-aid."
"Don't touch the water."
He nodded and smiled in response to the concern from the students in the club and class behind him.
A big boy, although a little sensitive, isn't overly dramatic.
He clumsily adjusted the crooked duckbill cap on his left hand and then hurriedly ran back to the dormitory.
Today is Saturday, I should tidy up and go to the Night Demon earlier.
The bar was vibrant and filled with a cacophony of sounds. Saturday night was a lively and relaxing evening.
While resting beside the bar counter, Murui raised his hand and glanced at it. He had just picked up a plate, and his fingers were a bit sore. It seemed that the blood that had previously stopped was about to flow again.
He couldn't find a band-aid in the dormitory, and he didn't go to buy one either. Just as he was about to get up and ask his other friends if they had any, a hand reached out in front of him.
Huh?
Mu Rui looked up in confusion and met a familiar face.
"I have a box of band-aids here."
"How did you know that I got hurt?" Mu Rui smiled as he took it from her. Cheng Jin talking to him voluntarily made him a little happy.
Cheng Jin lowered his head slightly, thought for a moment, and then said, "I just happened to have one. You seemed a bit unnatural when we were riding bikes today."
Mu Rui didn't expose him, what a liar! If he had it with him when they went to the bar together, he should have shown it then. Why give it now? Oh well, forget it. This guy must not be good at making friends; he doesn't know how to lie or hide his intentions.
Mu Rui lowered his head and smiled slightly when he applied it to his fingertips.
