The girl approached her and lightly kissed her cheek, leaving a gentle trace of soothing sunlight.

My name is Sasha, and I really like you, handsome tomboy. Remember to find me when you're free.

"I won't come again. Have you heard of the White Snake Hall?" she asked Sasha.

    "Heard...heard of it before."

Jiu Mei lowered her voice by her ear and said:

When you don't feel like doing it, just go to the entrance of Tongmiao Hall and find Ayi. Someone will assist you.

After speaking, she looked at Han Zhi and hurriedly left the bar with him.

"When should I tell the sect master about this?" Han Zhibian asked Jiujie as they walked.

Jiumei looked down at her watch and noticed that it was already late at night. She then said,

"Let's do it tomorrow. I'll make a call."

Han Zhi nodded and got on the car with her. Both of them looked uneasy, carrying heavy burdens as they returned to their respective territories.

Early the next morning, Ji Si Chao opened his eyes.

Looking at Ye Qing, who was soundly asleep on his chest, Ji Si Zhao felt a bit dazed. It was as if they were long-time lovers, only then would they have this special sense of familiarity.

He doesn't dislike Ye Qing. On the contrary, he likes and appreciates her very much.

Ye Qing is daring in both love and hate. He says whatever he wants, without any fear even when he is binding someone by his side. Ji Si admires his courage and at the same time respects his persistence in matters of the heart.

But he couldn't be with the other person. Having been in this business for so many years, Ji Si Chao knew best that emotions only make people weak.

He had never truly marked any Omega, let alone luring another man, who was also an Alpha, into trouble.

It's better to remain alone, even if one were to die, it would be in a free and unrestrained manner.

"You're awake?" Ji Sichao was in a trance, but he heard Ye Qing's voice.

He snapped back to reality and found Ye Qing already had her eyes wide open, gazing deeply at him.

"Um." Ji Si Chao felt a bit annoyed by his intense gaze, so he reached out to grab a cigarette from the bedside table.

Ye Qing held his hand: "Smoking in the early morning is not good."

There is only one person in this world who dares to oppose Ji Si Chao, and that person is Ye Qing. However, Ji Si Chao will not quarrel with him, he simply ruffled his messy short hair.

    "What's the use of that?"

Ye Qing leaned in closer to look at the wound on his arm, her voice filled with the laziness and weariness of the early morning:

"It's time to change the dressing."

As he spoke, he got up and pulled back the heavy curtains. The sunlight squeezed in through the cracks in the window, filtered through the clean glass, and spilled onto the floor.

After a night of rain, the rose petals in the garden were covered in droplets of water.

The sweet and tempting aroma grew even richer.

Ji Sichao squinted his eyes and looked out at the vast rose garden outside the window.

    "The flowers are blooming beautifully."

Ye Qing stood by the window, looking at him with a smile that seemed both genuine and cunning.

"They were all nurtured with the blood of your Omega lovers, isn't it beautiful?"

He spoke with cruel and merciless words, yet his face carried a gentle smile. Especially with the clean and gentle sunlight pouring down on his face, it seemed as if he was discussing not matters of life and death, but the beautiful scene after the rain.

Ji Si Zhao, however, remained expressionless, shifting his gaze away from Ye Qing.

His reaction was within Ye Qing's expectations, so he put away his smile and sat down by the bed.

"How come? Doesn't Mr. Ji care at all?"

Ji Si Chao finally turned around:

"Ye Qing, you don't truly understand the real me, and I hope you never will. Otherwise, you would feel like you've fallen in love with not a person, but a wicked ghost."

Ye Qing was startled for a moment, carefully observing the emotions in Ji Si Chao's eyes.

Seeing that he wasn't genuinely angry, she approached Ji Si Chao and her alluring eyes slowly curved upward:

"How do you know, then, whether the person who falls in love with you is worse than a demon?"

He was breathing lightly in Ji Si Chao's ear, his usually cold lips now showing a hint of a smile, with a touch of the crisp and refreshing taste of spring water emanating from them.

Ji Sichao shifted his gaze away and said, "Are you still going to help me change my medication?"

He spoke in a rough and gruff manner, as if trying to conceal something.

Upon seeing the situation, Ye Qing lowered her gaze and obediently helped him remove the bandage from his arm. She carefully inspected the wound, ensuring that it was not infected, before applying the antiseptic solution left by Dr. Cheng.

He handled it with great care, as if he was afraid of hurting the other person. After finishing the bandaging, he even tied a butterfly knot at the end and leaned in to gently blow on it.

"What are you doing?!" Ji Si Zhao still had that rough and loud tone.

Ye Qing lifted her gaze and smiled: "When I was little and bumped into something, my mom would blow on the wound after treating it, saying that it wouldn't hurt that way."

Ji Si Chao listened to him saying this, and lowered his eyes:

"I'm sorry for failing to uncover the true culprit behind your parents' incident years ago..."

"Don't mention it." Ye Qing shook her head. "This was never Flame Blaze's responsibility in the first place. For you to help me in the face of public opinion, I owe you this favor."

"Do you regret helping me?" he asked again.

"Why regret?" Ji Si Chao remained noncommittal.

"If it hadn't been you who showed up back then, I wouldn't have been entangled with you like this," Ye Qing said, looking at him sternly.

"You can't say it that way." Ji Si Chao reached for the shirt that Ye Qing had prepared for him earlier from the bedside cabinet and leisurely put it on.

"If it weren't for the past connection, Yan Zhi and Bai She would not have been able to coexist peacefully all these years. If we were truly enemies, Qize Harbor would have descended into chaos long ago."

He said in a low voice, without much expression.

Ye Qing reached out and buttoned up his black shirt for him.

If you and I were true adversaries, perhaps you wouldn't even glance at me like you do now.

Ye Qing pursed her lips, her expression tinged with a hint of bitterness.

Ji Si Chao looked at his brows and eyes, shaking his head anxiously.

"Ye Qing, you should understand that no matter whether we are opponents or not, there can never be anything between us."

"Why?" Ye Qing stopped her hand movement. "Is it because I'm an Alpha?"

Ji Sichao gazed at the face with burn scars, saying in a firm voice, "Yes, and yet not entirely." Then, he shifted his gaze to the side.

Ye Qing was about to ask further questions when suddenly a knocking sound came from the room.

    "Tangzhu, Jiemei is calling."

    It was Uncle Li's voice.

Ye Qing had no choice but to stop the conversation with Ji Si Zhao for now. She raised her hand and gathered her hair behind her ear, then responded loudly, "..."

    "I'll be right there."

After saying this, he looked at Ji Si Chao and said, "Wait for me, don't you dare sneak away."
