Ji Si Chao hummed and responded with a sound.
Ye Qing got up and walked towards the room door. As she was about to reach the door, she felt a bit uneasy. She turned around and took a cigarette from the coffee table for Ji Si Chao before feeling reassured and leaving.
Ji Si Chao watched his figure disappear, feeling that this Ye Qing also had a lovable side. Then, he picked up a cigarette and began to puff smoke.
In the time it took for one cigarette, Ye Qing had finished his phone call and returned. Ji Si Zhao looked at him with a somewhat solemn expression and then snuffed out the cigarette before asking:
"What's wrong?"
Yeqing sat down by the bed and said, "You're right, Kunsha and Heizi are indeed connected, and they are in contact with people from Xingye."
Ji Si Chao frowned slightly upon hearing this and asked, "Tell me more about it."
Jiumei and Hanzhi went to Xingye's place last night and found Kunsha, Heizi, and some people from Xingye discussing something together. Specifically, they mentioned that Xingye's new gambling establishment is opening in two days, and Chou Li and Chou Meng have invited Kunsha and Heizi to join in the festivities.
"I'm afraid it's not just a matter of showing support, is it?"
"I think so too... So, do you want to go and take a look together?" Ye Qing asked him.
"Tomorrow, I will take you to meet Wei Chaoxi first, and then we can make other plans."
Upon hearing him mention Wei Chaosu, Ye Qing's eyes lit up:
"Are you willing to let me dig into your territory?"
Only you dare to dig," Ji Si whispered, a smile tugging at the sharp contours of his face.
"But let me make it clear, I am only responsible for making the introductions. Whether or not you can dig up the information depends on your own abilities."
He added another sentence before slowly getting up and putting on his pants.
Ye Qing glanced at his long and strong legs, then casually shifted his gaze: "Are you going back?"
Ji Si slowly paused for a moment, straightened the stray short hair in front of her forehead, and then looked at him.
"When did I say I wanted to go back? I help you play matchmaker, and you can't even bear to treat me to a meal?"
Ye Qing was stunned for a moment and then replied, "Of course not."
In front of Ji Si Chao, he always acted like a cat that had its claws removed.
Just by looking at Ji Si Chao's evil and somewhat roguish face, his heart raced.
His face turned slightly red as he said, "Why don't you stay and have a meal..."
It seemed as if Jisichao had been waiting for him to say those words. He quickly put on his shoes.
"Alright, since Master Ye has extended an invitation, I'll accept the offer to have a meal." He curved his lips and smirked wickedly.
Afterwards, he carefully examined the vintage-style pajamas adorning Ye Qing's body, and then glanced around the bedroom filled with nostalgic decor. Finally, he sat down and asked Ye Qing:
"Why aren't you using your phone?"
"What?"
Ye Qing was still immersed in the joy of being able to eat a meal with Ji Si Chao and hadn't quite realized what he was saying for a while.
Ji Si Chao took out his cell phone from his suit pocket and raised it in front of Ye Qing,
"Why aren't you using your phone to contact the people below?" he said, furrowing his brows.
"Old-fashioned telephones are still too dangerous. Be careful, the walls have ears."
Ye Qing has always received a traditional education since he was young. The entire Bai She Hall also adheres to an extremely traditional style, so he has no interest in modern things and has never been exposed to them.
So when Ji Si Zhao asked this, he didn't know how to answer. He furrowed his brows and thought for a long time before saying, "I'm not accustomed to using that thing."
Ji Si Zhao chuckled as soon as he heard it, "You old fossil."
"You might be able to get along with that Wei Chaoxi. He's also an old fossil and has a very dull life."
Ye Qing glanced at him with a thoughtful look and said, "Are you saying that I'm boring?"
"Of course," Ji Si Chao replied nonchalantly without a care in the world.
"Is it because of this that you're distancing yourself from me?" Ye Qing asked again.
Ji Si Chao suddenly froze. He cleared his throat and said, "You know why."
After hearing this, Ye Qing lowered her gaze, and it was uncertain what she was thinking.
Ji Si Chao glanced at his displeased expression and added,
"No need to talk about all this, it's meaningless."
With that, he quickly pulled out a cigarette and lit it.
"What kind of meal does Master Ye plan to invite?"
Ye Qing raised her gaze to look at him, "I cooked the meal myself."
Ji Sichao was somewhat surprised because Ye Qing seemed completely unlike someone who could cook. In Ji Sichao's understanding, Alphas were strong, dominant, leaders, and almost like masters. They had no connection at all with the kitchen, so how could they possibly know how to cook?
He sat at the dining table in the hall with deep suspicion, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the dishes.
In less than a moment, the servants brought in a few dishes, all of which were vegetarian. Ji SiZhao glanced at them with disdain and curled his lips.
"Does your patriarch not eat meat?" he asked Li Bo who was standing beside him.
Uncle Li responded with a smile, "..."
"Yeah, Brother Ji, the Hall Master believes in Buddhism and practices vegetarianism."
Ji Si Chao cursed silently in his heart, muttering, "Do the people in power still need to believe in Buddhism?! Even if they do, it's futile. Their hands are stained with so much blood, they'll go to hell even if they die."
As he was thinking this, Ye Qing descended the stairs wearing a fully black suit. His handsome eyes scanned the vegetarian dishes on the long table and then settled on Ji Sichao: "What's wrong? No appetite?"
Having witnessed Jisì's frequent donning of ancient-style Tang clothing, Ye Qing was suddenly taken aback when he changed his style. It was quite unusual for her and even quite dazzling.
Ye Qing stood before him, his raven-black hair tied back with a red string. His smooth and fair complexion revealed a cold and handsome angularity. There was a trace of arrogance and charisma in his eyes and eyebrows. Such a temperament was enough to make people overlook the shallow red scar on his face and only feel that he looked much more attractive than before.
"Why aren't you saying anything?"
Ye Qingjian caught sight of Ji Si Zhao still in a dazed state and his lips curled up, full of alluring charm. He turned towards Li Bo and said, "Pass me the chopsticks."
Beside him, Mr. Li quickly wrapped the bamboo chopsticks with a clean cloth and handed them over. Ye Qing took the chopsticks and picked up a piece of lotus root, delivering it to Ji Si Chao's lips. "Master Ji, try the taste."
His enchanting eyebrows curved, his smile making the faces of the servants in the hall blush slightly.
Ji Si Zhao smelled the faint fragrance on his body and glanced at his jade-like youthful hands. Suddenly, he turned his head away, as if trying to conceal something, and picked up the wine in front of him, raising it to his lips and downing it in one gulp.
"I won't eat, it's no fun without meat."
Ye Qing was momentarily stunned, then she smiled and set the lotus root down. After that, she gave instructions to Old Li:
Let the chef pan-fry the steak that Xiaojiu brought back, cook it well-done.
"Yes." Uncle Li quickly responded and headed towards the kitchen.
"How did you know that I like it well-done?"
Ji Sichao looked at him with confusion.
Ye Qing sat down and let out a soft chuckle.
"Your little lovers all reveal your preferences to me before they die, so of course I know."
"Heh..."
Ji Si Chao pulled a smile without any expression on his face. Just by imagining it, he knew how Ye Qing would interrogate those people and how cruelly he would let their blood flow to water the flowers. The screams of begging for mercy must have shattered the sky, perhaps echoing in this magnificent hall for a very long time.
"He's really perverted..." He couldn't help but curse out loud as he kept thinking about it.
