Winnie was surprised at what Saxon said, but she didn’t know how to reply him. He took a deep breath and then he noticed the housekeeper granny standing behind Winnie was researching him and Winnie. He stepped forward. Seeing his movement, Winnie was alert and stood straight to face him. Saxon glanced at her and smiled. He then put his hand on her shoulder and gave her a light push.

Winnie was irritated. Saxon let her be. He gazed at Granny, who was keeping a watching eye on him. He said sincerely, “Granny, believe me. I love Winnie and I am running after her. I am sure I will never hurt her!” Saxon’s sincerity stunned Winnie, who supposed he would do something bad to Granny and prepared to fight back.

Granny studied Saxon for quite some while and then she looked at Winnie. She sighed and said to Saxon, “I am old now. I cannot understand your love. Your way to pursue love may be different from the old times. But anyway, love is mutual.” Granny went on speaking to Saxon, “If you only follow your idea and pay no attention to the other, you will push her away instead of getting her. You are a clever child. Do you understand what I mean?”

Saxon was moved. He smiled and answered in a low voice, “Yes, you are right.”

Granny nodded and went up to Winnie. She held her in her arms and patted her lightly on the shoulder. It seemed she was comforting Winnie.

The scene was touching. Saxon put his hands into his pocket and watched them. He understood what Granny really meant. So he said to Winnie, “Ok, I’ll go out. You can have a good rest. Don’t keep in mind what I did to you just now. After all, I am a careless man.” He smiled to her guiltily. Winnie nodded.

Saxon left and the door closed behind him. Winnie fell from Granny’s arms and sat down on the floor right away. It seemed as if she had lost all the strength.

Granny frowned at seeing this. She got close to Winnie and asked her lightly, “What happened to both of you?”

The granny saw her grow up, so she knew her well. Winnie knew she could not escape from Granny’s eyes because of the intimate action just now between Saxon and her. She began to tell Granny in detail about them since the first day he appeared in their house.

Granny was relieved hearing what Winnie said. She patted Winnie on the shoulder and said earnestly, “To be frank, even if you love the boy, I would not hope two of you to be together.”
