Frank swiftly ripped his shirt off into and bound his wound up.
The supervisor consoled Jane as he noticed her worrying expression, “Miss Lim, he’ll be fine. The ambulance is coming soon.”
Actually, she was the one to be hit by the thing. But how was she going to explain to Wayne if something really bad had happened to Frank?
“Frank, are you okay?” Jane clutched his hands.
“My right leg’s hurt. Not a big deal.”
But how could things be fine? It was common sense that even a small pebble falling from high above was fatal. Frank was now seriously injured.
As the ambulance screeched to a halt, the guy was took inside and was dashing all the way to the central hospital.
The news of Frank being injured was soon reported to the general manager of P&F’s branch office. Mr James then hurried to the hospital to pay a visit with his assistants. If the worst situation happened to Frank, the manager title of his would be deprived.
Besides, it was Frank Su that got injured. If the one was Jane, he couldn’t even keep his life.
In the meantime, a man in his safety helmet was sneaking around these workers at the site.
... ...
After several hours of operation, Frank’s out of danger and transferred to a patient room. The guy was still in sound sleep out of anaesthetic.
Jane didn’t leave the hospital and kept staying with Frank.
“How’s he now?” A familiar voice echoed outside the door. Wayne Chen flew all the way to Hammerfest the moment he heard Frank was in danger. His private jet was still landing at the roof of the hospital.
If Jane was the love of his life, then Frank was his arms. Although he hadn’t seen his bodyguard, he knew the guy was in serious danger for he was hit by the falling object at the site.”
“The doctor said that his leg...” Jane choked with sobs.
“Paralyzed?” Wayne stared at his best assistant and held his hands tight.
Frank was like a superhero to him over these years. In his opinion, the guy was invincible in all dangerous or risky situations.
But this time was an exception. Wayne truly wished Jane would reply him a “no”
However, the girl nodded in tears.
“No, no way. His leg can’t just...” Wayne just refused to accept the news that his best assistant was never going to stand on his feet again. The guy couldn’t spend the rest of his life on a wheelchair!
Frank had been working for Wayne ever since he left the army. Although his boss was a workaholic, the guy never complained but was always around him and guaranteed his safety.
He was only in his 20s. His life had just got started.
“Frank, you’re gonna got well.” Wayne then stood up to have a phone call.
He wanted the best doctors and teams to cure his man--no matter how much it would cost.
“Frank?” Jane wiped her tears off as she saw the guy managed to opened his eyes.
“I bring you a glass of water.” She tried to turned around but was grabbed by him.
The guy shook his head and said, “I’m not thirsty. Please leave me alone.”
Frank didn’t ask anything about his injury. He’s clearly aware of what it was like--he’s never going to stand up again.
How could he make someone else to help him grab a drink or even go to the toilet.
Then Wayne Chen walked in from outside with a gloomy face.
On staring at the guy in bed, he knew his friend was a strong man.
“Frank, everything’s gonna be fine. You take a rest here for two days. And I’ll transfer you to Europe the day after tomorrow. Your leg’s going to be just the same.” Wayne had already made a reservation at the top-notch medical institution at Europe to cure Frank in a few days.
He would never give up as long as there was a glimmer of hope.
While back at F city, a man was cursing over the phone.
“Look what you have done, you donkey head! Did I let you to kill her? Besides, what were you thinking to just break one bodyguard’s leg? Crap! What a waste of money! Now let me tell you, get the hell out of there. Don’t let them catch you. If they come to me in the future, you’ll end up in agony. Am I clear?”
Back at the corner of the site, Peter just couldn’t believe his ears that the one who promised to ally with him could toss him away like this. As a matter of fact, he was the one that was paid by All-star Group to ruin P&F’s construction for the land it just bought.
Peter was not smart. He’s just a thug around the Herb Village.
But Jeff Nam--son of the president of All-star Group--was well known for his sophistication and manipulative personality. Now he just wanted this trouble--Peter--to disappear.
Even though Wayne would find the guy in the future, he was never going to find any evidence to support the fact that he plotted all of these.
These were necessary costs in competing in this business world.
If he knew Peter was this numb, he would have sent his best assistant to kidnap Jane to his place when Wayne’s absent.
For he had been dreaming about the girl for years.
“Sis, what has happened to brother Frank?” Cindy had wanted to ask about her sister’s life at Hammerfest but she over heard the doctor’s words.
So Jane couldn’t disguise the reality and confessed, “He was hit by a thing in order to save me.”
“I wanna see him.” Cindy wept.
“He’s going to be sent to Europe for further treatment tonight. Everything’s gonna be fine. Don’t you worry.” Jane had to console this little sister and calm her down.
“To Europe? The injury must be very serious, right?”
“My dear, Frank doesn’t like it that people worry too much about him. Besides, Wayne has hired the best doctors and the most outstanding team to cure him. He’s bond to be alright.”
“I believe in you.” Cindy then sobbed as a reply. She couldn’t do anything for the guy except praying for him.
Jane hung up the phone and made up her mind.
