    The Zombie King's Marvelous Life[bxb]

*Update every Friday* After the end of the world, Shawn, who became Zombie King, lived an unrestrained life. He leisurely roamed among the horde while others were chased by zombies. Others fought for a spoonful of food at the risk of their lives, while he owned the food of the whole city. However, he didn’t eat. Others wore shabby clothes, while he lived in a clean villa, neatly dressed. …… He thought it was fair enough to become a zombie. Not only would he be frightened the whole day, but he could also live a life without worry about food or clothing. Um, he made a happy decision. The guy he had met before was rather funny, and he should go and find him.

Shawn was about to retort back immediately before the man standing on the monument rock started speaking. Shawn gently touched Ed’s injured leg, and then stayed away from him quietly.

Ed almost got down because of pain. He looked at Shawn, but found Shawn standing on the other side, separated by two or three people. Silently, Ed took a deep breath, stood up, acting like nothing happened, but bore grudges.

“Listen up! We’re setting up a new base, and everyone will start a new life here. We promise that what happened before will never happen here. It was because those who had been scratched by zombies entered the base that a riot was caused. An inspection procedure will be set up, and there is no chance that those who have turned into zombies would sneak into the base! Trust me!”

“Next we are building our new home with our own hands. Let’s work together to build a base that could defense against zombies! Let’s build our safe home!”

Lots of people made responses. To build a place of shelter was everyone’s wish, and so would they make effort for it.

“Okay.” As the crowd became quiet, the man continued, “Now I’m going to announce some rules of the base. Rules of life will stay the same as before. However, there are some changes in housing distribution. The details will be informed in future. During the construction of the base, food, contribution points, and crystal cores will be rearranged, and details will be informed.”

Crystal cores? Had they found the usage of crystal cores? In that case, those crystal cores left by burning corpses of zombies must have been taken away. What a pity!

“Next I’m going to talk about cleaning zombies and collect food.”

“Some of our soldiers will stay to protect you, some will carry out their tasks, and some are going to clean zombies and look for materials for base construction. We are short of hands, so we need more people to look for food, hunt zombies, and collect crystal cores. Those who join us will be richly rewarded. Anyone who is interested in it please go to left to sign up, and squads will be organized to carry out tasks then.”

“Okay, that’s all for today’s meeting. The rest will be informed next time, and details will be informed in the next few days. You may dismiss now, and those signing up please go to left.”

People scattered, however, a lot still stayed in the park, and chatted in twos and threes.

Ed had been staring at Shawn. He went up to Shawn after people scattered, and asked, “Are you signing up?”

“I haven’t decided yet.” His identity was so special that there was a big chance that he would be exposed. “Are you?” Asked Shawn.

“I haven’t decided, either. I will definitely be a drag on the group if I go now, and then despised by others.” Ed had a clear estimation of his own physical conditions. Except Shawn, not everyone would be willing to carry an injured man despite despising him by word of mouth.

“What regulations and ruled did the former base have?” Asked Shawn. Even if regulations and rules changed, they would not be much different from before. He would have a clue about them if asking Ed about them.

“It took contribution points to live in the base, and everything such as food, houses, and water should be bought with contribution points. Certainly, you could exchange food and water for them, too. Food and water is hard currency now, which can be used to exchange for anything. However, they have made crystal cores hard currency now, and I have no idea what the exchange rate is. We can only wait for further information.” Ed briefly introduced the outline with a few words, “Contribution points could be earned by tasks such as constructing the base, and hunting zombies. However, since there are crystal cores now, maybe new regulations and rules will be made.”

“Besides contribution points, the management was rather strict. The most important thing was not making trouble in the base, and you must obey the management of leaders. In sum, there were more rules in the base than that in the small group outside, and it was much safer in the base. At least, you didn’t have to live in fear of being robbed of food all the time.”

“You know the life of small groups, too?” Asked Shawn in surprise.

“I stayed with them for some time at the beginning of doomsday. I have spent less time staying in the base than staying outside.”

Shawn digested what Ed had said, and asked, “The team can be made of my own will?”

“Yes, but there should be at least two people in a team.”

“We two make a team.” Said Shawn decisively. He would rather stay with Ed than make a team with a stranger.

“Deal.” Similarly, Ed didn’t feel like staying with a stranger. So immediately he agreed about it.

Making the decision, they didn’t go for signing up, but went back to their villa.

Bear White wagged its tail and welcomed them as they returned. Shawn bent to a squat, picked up the puppy, and then went upstairs.

Looking at the back of the man and his dog gloomily, Ed felt a little sorry for himself.

Sighing deeply, he took out food, and started eating. He was the only one who could love and take care of himself.
