The next day at noon a rulebook was delivered there. Shawn took it over and went through it after Ed had read it. The rulebook was newly printed, and the ink on it hadn’t dried out. There were a dozen of pages in total, which were thickly covered with regulations and rules of the base.

Several questions which they most cared about were all written on the rulebook.

The villa belonged to them, however, they should pay for water and electricity. Besides, three months later, the villa should be charged, too. However, the fee was fair, and they both could accept it.

People could make teams on their own will, however, there should be no less than two people in a team. They were allowed to come and go out of the base after making a team. The base would ask for one third of their food or crystal cores as they returned.

The entrance fee was acceptable, and the requirement of making a team was exactly what they wanted.

However, it was much easier to go out than to get inside. Those who went out for tasks should be examined to see whether they had got injured as they came back. Then they should stay outside the gate for a day.

Seeing this, Shawn frowned. His body would be examined once they examined his wound. However, his body was black and blue, which exactly looked like a corpse. How could he let it be examined?

“What’s up?” Seeing Shawn staring somewhere and being still, Ed wondered, got close, and read it. However, he didn’t see anything wrong after reading it several times.

“I don’t want others to see my body.” Shawn turned to the next page, and continued reading the following content.

Hearing this, Ed looked Shawn up and down several times, and asked, “Is Goddess’s body so special that it will make others can’t help having dirty thoughts about you?”

Shawn rolled his eyes at Ed, said nothing, and continued reading rules.

Ed didn’t notice Shawn roll his eyes at all because his face was covered by the helmet. He still looked at Shawn several times. Then he rubbed his chin and thought, someday he must have a good look at Shawn to find out what a Goddess he was.

Bear White in Shawn’s arms baked. Seeing neither of them paying attention to it, it was unhappy, came to Ed, and took a bite of his hand.

Ed looked down at Bear White, and the puppy innocently wagged its tail and looked at him. Ed, who was about to give Bear White a lesson, rubbed its head hard, and said, “You little sharp thing. You are exactly the same as your master.” Ed said in such a low voice that Ed, whose hearing had lost, didn’t hear it at all.

Ed picked up Bear White, which was playing cute and acting innocent, scratched its chin, and combed its fur. Bear White comfortably narrowed its eyes, snored, and paralied in his arms.

Suddenly, Ed felt a warm stream. His face stiffening, he lifted Bear White, which was lying on his lap, looked at the urine on his pants, and knock the puppy on its head hard, “You ungrateful little thing.”

Bear White innocently whined, and wagged its tail.

Facing such a little cute thing, Ed had no temper, but rubbed its head hard, “Even a puppy should remember the gratitude and try to repay it. Do you understand? If not, at least you shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds you.” He said, and then pointed at the urine.

Finishing reading rules of the base, Shawn looked up and saw Ed holding his Bear White and lecturing it.

“What are you doing?” He went up, grabbed the puppy from Ed’s hand, and looked it up and down. Not until he was sure that Bear White was safe and sound did he look at Ed.

Ed was pissed off by it. Was he the man who would beat a puppy? Why did Shawn distrust him so much?

“Take it easy. I am not so narrow-minded that I would beat a puppy.” Said Ed angrily.

“No, I know you wouldn’t.” Shawn continued before Ed’s face lightened, “I just worry that something dirty clung to Bear White.”

Suddenly, Ed burst into a rage and said, “You mean I am the something dirty?”

Shawn pointed at Ed’s pants and said, “I mean that.”

“...” Ed realized he had got Shawn wrong, and felt a little embarrassed. However, he didn’t show it up, still pulled a long face, and said, “Do you know who left it?”

“Bear White, don’t urinate in public, understand?” Flipping Bear White’s head, Shawn left with the puppy in his arms as he lectured it.

Seeing the man and his puppy leaving, Ed twitched his mouth. Suddenly, he sat up.

Wait! Shawn didn’t apologize to him, but ran away. What a cunning man!

Ed had a look at the direction where Shawn had left, looked at his own pants, sighed a deep sigh, and went to change his pants.
